As winter arrives, I find myself feeling a
bit more ‘daring’ to try darker lipstick shades. Arbonne Cosmetics recently contacted us about
their premium range of products made with botanical ingredients. I picked out ‘Jam’ from their lipstick
range, which claims to be “intensely hydrating and moisturising, allows wearers
to achieve long-lasting beautiful lip color, with added health benefits”.
As you can see from the swatches below, the
color is definitely true to its’ name; it has great pigmentation, lasting a solid 4 hours, with eating
and drinking. It is also very hydrating, gliding on really easily, buildable colour with a glazed finish. Jam is easily removed with an oil
based make-up remover, however I do find that it leaves a stain, which is
pretty difficult to get off.
The lipstick is packaged taller and thinner
than the standard lipstick, which means the applicator portion is smaller,
making it more precise to apply it with. There is a teeny bit of scent, but it’s
just the standard ‘lipstick scent’ that most companies mask over.

Overall, I really like the hydration,
finish and in particular, the shade Jam.
It’s one of those deeper red tones that make your teeth appear
whiter. I personally like how it leaves
a stain behind, as it acts sort of like a ‘fallback’ if you’re wearing this for
a long amount of time :D
Products from Arbonne Cosmetics are vegan
friendly, not tested on animals, and free from sodium lauryl sulphate, talc,
gluten, parabens and phthalates!
